Title: Research into options for 2007 Beaver Patriot Tail Lights
Post by: gary_curtis on January 05, 2022, 05:45:19 PM
My tail lights have seen better days due to salt corrosion and UV from the Sun.  I called Beaver Parts yesterday and they had one left side assembly in stock and were asking $850 for it.  I did a search on Ebay and found a listing for aftermarket Monaco Dynasty 2006-2011 Tail Lamps.  Unfortunately they did not provide any dimensions but I was able to pull from the image the  DOT number:

SM3711 FERNOO DOT SAE (2) AIP2RST-97-EE       (unfortunately that was a dead end)

Looking at pictures of motor homes I ran across a picture of a 2011 Monaco Dynasty.  The 2011 Monaco is on the left and a 2007 Beaver Patriot on the right. I'm not sure if these were standard tail light assemblies on the Monaco but they look like two, 2004 Ford E-150 Club Wagon Tail light assemblies with one turned upside down. If they are, this may be a clean $130 solution for tail light replacement.

Has anyone tried this modification?
Did it fit in the tail light housing without requiring new paint and body work?
Are these the stock 2011 Monaco Dynasty tail lights?

Gary,
Besides NW Supply, there is also several RV salvage yards around. Colaw in Missouri, several in or around Phoenix AZ,
Visone RV in Kentucky, just to name a few.
Best of luck!

Thanks Jeff and Byron for providing the names of the Recycling Companies.

Northwest RV did not have anything that looked like it would work but digging through the Vision RV website I was able to find one 2006 Beaver Patriot with tail lights but I'm thinking that those lights may also have UV problems after 15 years. Vision RV is a couple of hours south of Cincinnati so next time I am traveling that way I will stop and take a look.

I was able to confirm from the Vision RV site that the lights on the 2011 Monaco Dynasty that I posted are the original tail lights for 2006-2011 Monaco Dynasty coaches.

I was also able to confirm that they are the same lens as is found on the 1995-2014 Ford E-150, E-250 and E-350 vans and  2000-2005 Excursions (OEM Part Number: F5UZ-13404A, F5UZ-13405A). Someone had left a comment on Amazon that they had purchased two sets and installed them on a 2008 Monaco Dynasty and they fit the installation holes perfectly (They just had to remove some plastic tabs on the back).

Now all I need to do is confirm that the molded holes in the rear for the tail lights in the 2007 Beaver Patriot Thunder are the same size as a Monaco Dynasty. The picture in Amazon comments makes it look like the height is about 13 engine door latches
high vs 10 engine door latches high for the Beaver. So it does not look like this is going to work without some major body work. :(

Gary, Since you are trying to enhance the appearance of your tail lights, how about trying one of those headlight restoration kits?

Not to contradicts Eric’s great information, might be wrong, but I don’t think that the Hellas are the correct lens.

I was wanting to replace the clear backup lens with second amber lens. I too thought the Hella was the right one, but they mount with four screws and the measurements didn’t match the original, they are about 5 ¼ x 10 ¼.

The existing lenes do not mount with screws and they are about 4 ½ x 12, they do have two indentions for screw holes but are not drilled.

I concluded that the originals are Hamsar 86200 BN 200606. They are not listed on the Hamsar crummy website or anywhere else that I could find. I didn’t continue with the project.

You could call Hamsar (I did not) or maybe Beaver Coach Sales could confirm the manufacture. You could always order the Hella from Amazon as long as they are returnable.

you may be right on the hella lights are the ones that fit my older patriot but that doesn't mean they are the same as those for the newer coaches although they look the same the dimensions are different.
Thanks for the input

Eric

Eric,

I just reread the first sentence in my post, I didn’t mean to say that you might be wrong, it should have said.

Not to contradicts Eric’s great information. I might be wrong, but I don’t think that the Hellas are the correct lens.

Sometimes when you try to shorten a response it doesn't always come out like it was meant.

Gary
I have found that a yearly cleaning with “White Diamond Polish” brings our tail light lenses to about %75.  On one occasion I removed one and cleaned inside and polished out with much better result.
White Diamond is a “metal polish” which also indicates use on headlights etc.  It is mild and need only a rag and 5 minutes per headlight and a clean rag to buff.
This is available at AutoZone and Oreillys for under $10.
Hope this helps.

Ditto Keith’s remarks. Been using White Diamond for years on the headlights and taillights and they look almost new. I too have removed the tail lights to clean the interior. If your lights are not damaged they can be polished to a fine condition of your choice. My 03 Monterey tail lights look new with touch up twice a year. If your lights haven’t been polished before it will take some time but don’t get discouraged, with enough elbow grease they will shine like new and you can spend the $850 on cold refreshments. Got White Diamond from Amazon.
