Can anyone tell me why some of the older Marquis have three retractable entry steps or two

The interior floor on a diesel pusher has to be a few feet above the ground to accommodate the suspension and running gear. Therefore, a certain number of steps are required to enter the coach. On some coach designs there are more interior steps, and therefore the required number of exterior steps is reduced. Also, the number of exterior steps can vary between a mid-entry and front entry coach..
