Our Aqua Hot is leaking (almost pouring). Found and repaired a split pipe, but apparently there's a bigger issue further back.
Is there a way to bypass the AH until we get somewhere to fix it?
Cold water is better than no water.

Ouch! I can think of a couple of things to try to stop the leak... other than finding the leak and repairing it, of course. You might try closing all the hot/cold water gate valves on the water manifold in the water bay. From your description, I doubt that will be effective. Another more difficult idea is to remove the cold water line from the AquaHot's cold water inlet. There might be a gate valve on the cold water inlet but my AquaHot's manual does not show one. I do not know how to remove and plug the Pex line from the inlet point on the AquaHot. Sorry!

What model Aquahot do you have .
Did it freeze ?

To temporarily solve your problem you could cut the cold water supply line going into the Aqua hot and the hot water line coming out of the Aqua hot and install a shut off off valve to connect them together temporarily using a flairit or a shark bite valve

There are several places that could be leaking
1) make sure it is water and not antifreeze as water is the domestic hot water loop and antifreeze would be the coach heating loop or tank itself
2) the leak could be a as simple a connection a bad pressure relief valve or tempering valve.
Once the front cover is removed you should have access to the above mentioned plumbing and valves but if the water is running out from under the front wall of the unit it is likely the domestic hot water heat transfer loop.
When I bought my coach it s Aquahot had been frozen and the domestic hot water loop had split in almost every loop so I took the unit out of the coach and removed both covers from the unit inside you'll find a round barrel which contains the antifreeze
The domestic hot water loop is simply 160 ft of soft copper 1/2 inch tubing raped around the barrel and then covered with heat transfer cement.

On my unit both the domestic loop and the heating barrel and combustion chamber had holes in them.
Rebuild barrels are available but they are very pricey.

I'm having the same kind of issue with mine leaking. Started out as a small leak and then developing into something much larger. To resolve the problem and be able to go on our trip already scheduled, we completely removed our hydro-hot. They had to remove the coolant lines to and from the engine and connect them together. They also had to connect the cold/hot water lines that were connected to the heater. Not the ideal solution but a short term fix until my trip is over. Hope this is helpful.

Steve - Your leak sounds much like a leak my AquaHot had several years ago. Hopefully, your leak is similar to mine making it a cheap and easy repair. Thanks for the links, thinking I have a little more serious issue. I'll start a new thread when we dig a little deeper. My hydro-hot is a Model HHE-500-06M.

Bypassed it just at the water inlet/outlet. Will rip it apart when we get to a suitable location. Thanks for the replies and help.
