Title: ATF Change
Post by: Fred Cook on October 31, 2017, 07:48:53 PM
So,  I am getting ready to change my ATF for the first time in this coach. Wondering what would be best for my Allison 4000, 6 speed transmission? I know it should be TES 295 certified. Other than that what brand is best?

Transynd is the best choice.  It's expensive but has a long life.  Also, if your tranny tends to overheat, then Transynd will help lower the tranny temperatures.

Thanks David... I  Believe that should be fully synthetic right? Also, in my other coach there was a filter that was inside and oil reservoir. My Beaver coach has 60,000 miles on it. How often would that filter need to be changed?

Enter "transynd trans temp" into the search argument and start reading.  There are numerous messages which talk about all the good things relative to Transynd.  The one bad thing is its cost.
