Has anyone used Sunguard windshield screens? They apply to the outside of the windshield. I had RV Sun Screens make a set for our last coach. They were of good quality and gave good service but a bit pricey (IMHO). The Sunguard screens are less expensive and appear to use comparable materials. Only catch (no pun intended) is that the user has to install the mounting snaps on the coach. So I'm curious as to quality, durability, and mounting procedure.
Thx, Steve

I've had the Sunguard covers on my Contessa windshield and side windows for about 3 1/2 years now Steve.
I highly recommend them. Durable and I keep them on year round at the house here in Florida Sun. No fade at all.....
I had the snaps put on, easy to put them on the rv, small drill bit for starter and a little bit of sealant when screwing into fiberglass after measuring them.
They sent a small side door window cover, but I called and told them I needed a large cover due to a center door coach, sent out immediaitley to me so customer service is good too.

Thanks LaMonte!

Steve,
I had them on my last coach and just loved them. I'm not happy with the ones
that came with this coach and I'm thinking strongly of changing to The Sunguards.

You guys have convinced me.
Thx!

Our Beaver came with the snaps in place...for something on the windshield, but no cover was included. I'm wondering if they can make us one that will use the existing snaps.

Stan,
They will send you the snaps and you will have to put then into the covers, They send good instructions so you get them on right.
Also you can order snaps or twist toggles. I prefer the twist toggles myself.

Kind of off subject but I was at Homedepot the other day and I noticed that they now sell rolls of the silver sun shade material in rolls 4' X 12'. They call it Radiant Barrier, Would make great shades for the inside of the front windshield and side windows.

Steve,
Here's another option that you might consider it's called Magne Shade. I installed it on my coach and love it. I can put them up in less than 5 minutes and don't need to drag out my ladder or install snaps on the coach. There is a video in the below link that shows how easy they are to put up and take down.

Bruce,
Thanks for the info but I've got the SunGuard's on order. The Mag Shades look like a neat system.

How well do they handle the wind? I would like to leave them on during the winter in Iowa, and it gets pretty windy here.
Thanks

Any shade installed inside the windshield rather than outside is significantly less effective in keeping heat out of the coach. This is the greenhouse effect; I won't go through the physics unless someone doesn't understand it.

Tim,
I leave mine on all the time the only time they're down is when I'm traveling. They've been through some pretty severe storms here in Texas and also when I spent some time in Indiana and I've never been concerned about them coming off. I've used them for about 2 years now. You might talk to the folks at Magne Shade and see if they've had any issues being used in northern climates. I would be more concerned about significant accumulations of snow and ice but I still think they would probably be fine.

Steve enjoy your sunscreen. I have had mine since last winter. Not only does it shade the front window it keeps everyone that drives by from watching us inside all day long. Being here in Winchester bay and the main road Salmon Harbor Drive it really gives us some privacy. It came with the covers for the windshield wipers and a bag to put it in when you put it away. It also has the twist locks and they were installed in the cover I just had to mount them on the coach.

Just had a windshield and two side windows at Wade RV @ Lazy Days-Seffner, $399 installed, happy with install and very good quality. I do need a ladder to put the top snaps on. Wanted to do Magneshades, but vendor in South Dakota didn't get all my measurements, so did not order them.
