Jim
You might want to check out the coach assist file on Magnum era slide outs .
You'll find it in the coach assist library. Go to the blue link at the top of this page then to the " technical "drop down then. To "brochures for almost all Beaver coaches" then to"Safari Motor Coach corporation (1994-2001)"
Near the bottom of that drop down you will find the title "slide out information and diagrams"

I know your coach is a 2002 but there is little difference from the 2001 as Beaver was still using up the Magnum chassis before switching out to the Roadmaster chassis if your early Roadmaster chassis chassis serial number starts with an "M" it is a Magnum chassis .

Hope this helps
Eric

Might reach out AZ Expert. He's on YouTube. He's has a 2002 Patriot. He has done this kind of repair in the  past. I don't have his contact info. But, I believe you can message him through his youtube.
Cheers, and good luck.

Technical Support / Main slide out repair
« Last post by Jim Walker on January 12, 2025, 10:21:15 PM »
I have a 2002 Beaver Contessa. The main driver's side slide out (dining table and lounge chair) makes a lot of noise (sounds like scraping) when extending or retracting. Took the rig to my repair facility for repair. After diagnosing the problem. they stated the following: "Inspected the main driver side slide and found the rollers inside the shaft rail are worn and the bottom plastic are torn. This would need all the rollers and plastic sliders replaced but to do so the slide would need to be removed. SWRV is not able to remove the slide. Note, the slide is jumping teeth and is in bad shape. Needs to go to a Beaver dealer for this repair." Also they said they had difficulty in getting the slide back in. Obviously I will not be operating the slide until a repair can be made. I am in Surprise, AZ. My question is, does anyone know of a repair facility that would be capable of completing this repair that would be more local to me than BCS? I seem to recall mention on this forum of a facility run by a former technician with BCS or the original manufacturer who is located either in the Yuma area or near Parker, AZ. Thanks

Chuck,
I was mistaken. The 50/50 mix of water and boiler antifreeze provides heat for the coach. That is providing your coach heat. However w/o water in the system if you have the water heater switch on you may burn out the electric heating element in the water heater. It would be safer to refill the water heater. If you have the unit running and have the T'stats set for ~50 or so you won't have any freeze issues.
Again, sorry for my confusion.

I got heat I just wanted to know if it is ok to run it without any water in the water heater . But it’s been running for 4 nights so I guess I’ll be reporting back to y’all if it hurt anything.

Chuck,
No you cannot run the Hurricane without water. Heated water is what provides the heat.
