Title: Puck Light Trim
Post by: Allen R Phillips on January 24, 2022, 04:31:17 AM
I have a new to me 2007 Contessa and the puck light trim keeps falling off. I suspect this was a problem with the prior owner because I have found a drawer full of them. They have three little nipples on them which are supposed to screw into place, but they do not seem to work.

Has anyone had this problem? How did you solve the problem? I'm thinking of a dab of silicone or maybe museum wax. The bulbs are necessarily Halogen for the dimming capability so I'm worried the wax or silicon may get warm and lose its holding ability.

Suggestions please!!

Thanks, Allen

IMO, the best solution is to change out your halogen light fixtures for LED fixtures.  After talking to a Beaver owner who was wintering here in Yuma, I took the advice and changed out all of ours.  We had 57 fixtures.  The following link pretty well explains my experience.  I don't know what the cost of these fixtures might be in today's retail marketplace.

Allen, the photo below shows the manufacturer as Liteco. You might try to see if they still make this style of light fixtures in order to replace the broken black retainer ring. I think your idea of a little silicon would work also
