Title: Mystery Knob
Post by: Rick Daniels on October 24, 2022, 08:57:46 PM
Attached see photo of a mystery knob located in the water bay behind the stainless steel cover.  You cannot see or adjust this knob unless you remove the entire water bay cover.  The knob adjust in increments of 10-20-30-etc.  What does this control knob control?  Next question;  is there a temperature control for the hot water?  My hot water is heated by electricity or the hurricane heater.

Rick
If you have the Aquahot boiler for heat  in the tank bay on the driver's side with the wet wall removed you will find a heating radiator hanging from the ceiling next to the frame rail above the black tank  this is the tank bay heater and the knob you found is the thermostat that controls that heater .
It should be set above 40 degrees to keep the tank bay and cargo bays above freezing .

As for your second question on the Aquahot domestic hot water temperature is controlled by an adjustable tempering valve mounted at the Aquahot itself .

Hope this helps

Thanks Eric. I found the radiator above the black tank.  I will set the mystery knob to 40 deg.  Does the fact that my system is a "Hurricane" heater not an "Aquahot" make any difference? My hot water heater is a "Seaward".

the Aqua hot and the hurricane are somewhat different in their mechanical operation but the bay heat is done the same way.
The Seaward hot water heater uses an  electric element  or the Hurricanes diesel  heater as a heat source as does the Aquahot to heat the domestic hot water the only real difference is the Seaward system has a separate tank where as the Aquahot is a all in one system,

For a better understanding of the Hurricane and Seaward systems id recommend you take a look at the manuals in the coach assist section of the forum .

To get to coach assist click on the link at the top of this page and go to the technical tab drop down menu at the bottom of that drop down menu you'll find the coach assist tab, opening it will give you a world of information for reference and down load

Hope this helps
