Title: Touchup Paint Source
Post by: MarcRodstein on March 08, 2012, 09:02:00 PM
I would like to get some touch-up paint to match my 2003 Monterey. Years ago I was at a paint store in Bend that had all the Beaver paint colors. Can anybody give me their contact info?

Probably a call to BCS in Bend, 1-800-382-2597, will get you the right contact information, if not the paint itself.

The problem I found was that the paint codes are for Diamont paints, a really good, very expensive brand, but finding a source of small quantities of custom-mixed Diamont paint is not easy.  I was lucky that the PO of my coach left me a set of that correspond to common automobile colors.

The paint codes that are on my build sheet are non-standard and the local paint guys can't use them. That's why I wanted to contact a Bend paint supplier who can work with Beaver's codes. I visited a paint company in Bend in 2003 who knew all of Beaver's colors. I don't have their contact info, nor do i know if they are even still in business. I'll try BCS.

Local automotive paint shops (at least the ones in our area) have scanners that computer matches paint wothout the use of a code. Batches of paint from the paint codes you mention can have slight color variations and why you see labor on estimates for "blending" repanted areas.

Unless always garaged original paint will not match anyway.  As others have said, get your paint scanned and expect some blending if you're not painting a whole side.

I can't get all of the colors scanned as there is one color that does not appear on any part that can come off the coach. In addition I can live with a close but not perfect match, as I only want it to touch up stone chips.

I brought my coach to a paint shop and they brought their analyzer out to it. The problem I ran into was that they were unable to match the heavily metallic gold that is the base paint on my coach.  Essentially their color pallet couldn't match the color.

I had my coach serviced in Bend at Beaver Coach Sales and without asking them to do so they gave me touch up paint for each color on my coach. Also yes, it  matches each color very well. if you ever need service they do a great job.

I called Monaco parts earlier today and they gave me BASF Diamont's retailer named Industrial Finishes at 800-531-1305 for paint. Per the Monaco Part's person they were the supplier of paint for Beaver.
