I'm replacing the original 1996 Delco cassette radio in my 96 Patriot with something more modern. The only thing I am not sure of is what the orange and orange/white wires are for. Couldn't find anything in the search so does anybody have a wiring code for this radio ?

Bob, The orange wire is normaly a battery feed hot all the time for radio memory. If you post a picture of the front of radio and the electrical plug I can get you a diagram. They used them in many GM cars.

Thanks Steve. It kind of resolved itself since the new Alpine system only has one orange wire for "illumination". The red and yellow go to the same feed as on the original setup which didn't key off the ignition for power, just the stereo switch. The orange has 12v normally but drops to 4v when the lights are on, I am guessing that is to lower the radio lights at night. No real options here.
