Headlight, and sometimes taillight, assemblies on our coaches are commonly from specific automobiles, such as Lincoln, and yours might be from a late 80s Ford pickup, Harry.  A member here probably knows what yours is, but if not you may need to get a DOT number off the assembly, then search auto yards or online for a pair.

Some months back there were some on EBay.  You might punch in "Beaver headlights" or something there and check.

Our 1997 has Ford Pickup headlamps and I think they used them till after 2000. I think they are 1990 model year run. Take the numbers off and any body shop or ford dealer can get them.  Url below has picture.

With headlights you can usually simply Google the SAE number that is molded into the lens; that's what I did with ours.  I think you will find yours are from a Lincoln Navigator.

Harry,
There is a little confusion here because the 1999 Patriot was the last year that used the glass headlight from the 1987-1991 Ford pick-up. The 2000 Patriot went to the "plastic" headlight assemblies from the 1999-2002 Lincoln Navigator.

Gerald,
What headlight assembly does my 1999 marquis have?

Harry,

I had to replace my headlights on my 2005 Monterey.  Got them on ebay.  Just search for Beaver Headlights.

My right front headlight is fogged and has moisture in it so I just ordered a new one off eBay. It's after market for $160 with a 1 year warranty.  Hope it works out. The price is right.

Rich,
Remove the foggy headlight, set it in the sun to dry out for a few days. Once the moisture is gone, seal the seams with Lexel. Will be a good as new.

Tom,
The 1999 Marquis uses standard sealed beam headlights, and replacements can be found at any large auto parts store. Just take your old headlight in and match it up.

Gerald thanks,

I was more interestd in the assembly.  I know the bulbs are standard.

The frames are a bit rusty and hard to adjust.

Tom,
I do not know who made the headlight buckets, but the adjusting hardware is replaceable as individual parts. Any parts house or body shop that deals with older model car repairs will have (or can get) the parts to repair your headlights.

Rich,
Sorry for the bad info. Thought you had the same assy as in the 2000 model.

I apologize for hijacking this thread. Gerald do you know the OEM manufacturer of the headlight assemblies for my 2005 Beaver Monterey? Perhaps a Lincoln also. If so, what model?

Thanks,

Stan

Steve, thanks anyway. That would have saved a few bucks. Does anyone know how hard/easy it is to replace the headlight?  Any tips would be appreciated.

It's probably from a 2002 Lincoln Navigator, Stan.   As per Dennis' suggestion:
  http://www.ebay.com/itm/BEAVER-MOTOR-MONTEREY-2005-2006-RIGHT-FRONT-LIGHT-HEADLIGHT-HEAD-LAMP-RV-/151093086589?pt=Motors_RV_Trailer_Camper_Parts_Accessories&hash=item232dd9897d&vxp=mtr

But auto salvage may be a cheaper way;  I'd check first.

Rich,
Should be fairly easy if the frame is OK. The headlight is mounted in the frame by 3 or  4 screws. Headlight alignment is done by adjusting the frame itself so switching the  headlight shouldn't impact the alignment. You'll have to remove the plastic facia headlight surround to access the frame.

Stan,
I am not sure who the original manufacturer was for the headlights in a 2005 Monterey, but I am sure someone else on the forum knows.

Thank you Gerald and Joel. I found this site with BOTH assemblies at substantial savings over the ebay price.

Stan,

Do a search on ebay for Beaver Headlights.  You can get one there and pay a lot less than oem replacement.

Stan,

You will be doing some cutting and mounting chsnges. Make sure you:

1. Notice how they aremounted.
2. Be very careful with the cutting and filing.  You will be very close to the edge of the lens.

I had the fellow across the street from BCS put film over the headlight assemblies so they'd be protected like the rest of the cap.  It seems to do the job, but I've had him redo them once, and they still pucker due to the curve involved, and dirt accumulates behind the film.  Nevertheless,  I believe the film helps prevent cracks, fending off UV radiation and rocks.

I think both left and right assemblies were available on Ebay, Stan, but good job researching and locating a heck of a better deal!

All of the ones I've seen online say they are DOT and SAE certified to the OEM. Does that mean Beaver changed them to fit as well?

Stan,

They sure modified them to fit my 2005 Monterey.  The mounting was changed as well as a lot of the plastic trim around the lens had to be removed.  These changes I had to make were also changes on the ones I replaced.

Per my previous post, be very careful when cutting.

Apologies to all here but our 1998 Patriot had the square plastic headlights.  They looked the same as the ones in our 1990 Ford PU but were smaller.
Somewhere on this forum I heard that they used headlight assemblies from 1980's full size Bronco.  I did track one down at a wrecking yard and they seemed to be the same.

Keith

FYI Richard-
We have the 2000 Navigator headlights in our 2000 Navigator.  One became fogged and had moisture.  I pulled the unit out and used a hair dryer to dry it out and soften the seals.  I think it was Por-Seal clear that I used to reseal and cleaed it up with medium/fine/then McGuires ultimate compound and a soft cloth.  Polishing took about twenty minutes because it was so bad.
Saved some bucks and it just needs a touch up now after a year.

I have been trying to research what my 1992 has for an assembly and am conflicted by either a chevy Impala unit or a CK (P/U truck)...if anyone knows for sure it would be a great starting point...in many cases you can get significantly upgraded optics and lighting such as Xenon through aftermarket resellers as well....I can french in just about anything but it would be nice to start with something close.

Dennis that baby is a BEAUTY!!!!...absolute hot rod of a bus!...Indeed those are the same as mine...many thanks!

I did a bit of digging on the Caddy tip and these are just a combined 4656,4651 4x6...I found these on eBay commonly used as retrofit for emergency vehicles like firetrucks...http://www.ebay.com/itm/4X6-PROJECTOR-BLACK-LENS-HEADLIGHT-4300K-H4-HID-HIGH-LOW-BEAM-SLIM-BALLAST-KITS-/400550763859.

Headlight replacements for the '89,'90, '91, 92 and maybe the '93 coaches were from a 1988 Cadillac El Dorado.  If you need a replacement headlight and mounting bracket go to "Cadillac parts".  I believe they are located in Southern California.  I purchased one from them a couple of years ago and it worked fine.  As some one wrote earlier to check the number on the headlight glass.  Good luck.

Our coach's headlights are fogged over too, so this post peaked my interest so I spent some time searching on line and found this OEM headlight replacement web site, great prices for the 2000 Lincoln Navigator headlights.

http://www.headlightsdepot.com/catalog/Lincoln/Navigator/2000/Headlights

$138.95 for the pair (new) plus free shipping, can't beat that.
