Yesterday after going by Motor Home, used the key to open the door and the cylinder came out with the key, it still works but will fall out it jiggled. Also the dead bolt key just turns in circles does not open or close. from the inside you can twist the dead bolt to lock or unlock . Any ideas as where to start??? 2006 Monteray PS have dometic parts coming.

Dead bolt lock mechanism is a standard residential unit and comes apart by unscrewing the two long screws on the inside on the faceplate. Sounds like the pin from the lever side is still engaged in the barrel from the front side key mechanism, but the barrel may have broken off at the key side. Taking it apart is easy and should expose the issue. I'd think that a replacement could be economically sourced at a hardware or big box home store.

Standard deadbolt except strike (round press in) for Kwikset needed "Mobile Home Deadbolt Conversion Kit" #12077 (Home Depot $4.97). 1996 Monterey YMMV

Thank you, I just picked it up. We have had issues with front door locks, auto, to non auto, can't get out or can't get in. We are leaving for the Oregon coast Monday. Thank you. Dale

To add to some what the same problem of "auto locks" we are up on the Oregon coast in the rain, the doors lock and unlock, can not fine the fuse or location. The real problem as of now is the bay doors are locked and will not open with remote or key. Any ideas.

Dale,
Not sure if your electrical panel is same as mine but.... The bay door lock actuators is fuse 87 on mine (in elect. bay under driver) see attachment. You might also try disconnecting the chassis batteries as they are the power source for the actuators. Once open you might want to leave the fuse out or disconnect the power connector at each bay door until you get problem solved.

The compartments are locked and the key will not let me unlock. Thank you for the fuse #

That's really strange... no matter how my bay doors are locked, I can lock or unlock any one manually with the right key.
You're sure, Dale, that you're trying the correct black-topped Key, cuz our '06 Monterey has two different ones that look virtually alike but have different applications. Then there are two others without black tops that look alike. To tell which of them went where, early on I put a yellow caplet on the engine compartment key (as in CAT paint), an orange one on the entry door latch key, and a green (like diesel nozzles) caplet on the fuel door key. The bay door key I left plain.
We've experienced a number of issues when the keyless entry gets wet such as via rain. And I've seen the thing light up and the lock activate on its own while washing the coach ???. Eventually I had BCS richly seal the pad into its escutcheon and ditto the escutcheon onto the coach wall. I examine that interface regularly and will smear Lexel if I spot a nano-crack. It stopped the problem. Otherwise even the slightest moisture seepage seemed to play havoc with the keypad.
As to Steve's suggestion, our coach that's similar to yours has door locks relay #20, 4th row of relays down and middle relay of five. The circuit breaker is #CB17, 4th one down on the far left column (buss bar).

Joel, thank you Good question on the keys, I can turn to lock, but it is already locked, with a pair of pliers I could open the elec. bay, scared I'll break key, We were away from coach and for hours it shorted out and kept locking, unlocking, I think that the linkage over locked and won't pull back. I used a hair dryer lightly then covered with duck tape to keep out any more moister. I need to get the water compartment open so I can travel. I will try your elec. diagram, thank you.

Dale,
I'm referencing an 05 Monterey electrical bay diagram that looks identical to your 06 electrical bay layout.
On right side of bay, TB2 has 3 terminals that relate to the locks:
#6- All Lock
#7 - Bay Unlock
#8 - Entry Unlock
On Left side of bay there are 2 relays related to locks;
K21 - Bay Door Unlock
K22 - Entry Door Unlock
I think that if you remove the wires on TB2, terminal 6, the power should be removed and that should stop the locking/unlocking of the doors or allow them to be unlocked with the key(s). If that doesn't stop the lock/unlock, remove the wire on CB-17 (Door Locks circuit breaker).
As to cause, I'd check CB-17, the Door Locks circuit breaker. It's a thermal breaker that may be failing. Check with a voltmeter to see if 12V is alternating on and off. If so it's bad. Relays are probably OK since you said both entry and bay doors were affected. Doubt that both would go bad as same time.

My '06 diagram below. I misinformed you... it is not relay 20, but as Steve notes, 21 and 22. Check also for looseness on the ground buss, far right, numbers 6, 7, and 8.
Also I took a photo of the wiring for the keyless entry. Note the potential involvement of circuit breakers 3 and 27. There is also shown an apparent 15 amp thermal fuse off two red wires from the Magnadyne control module under the top dash port (the pry-up upholstered panel in front of the steering wheel). I'm no expert at deciphering schematic symbols, but that might be a reset button as opposed to just a fuse. Others here with schematic expertise may offer clarification. But if so, I wouldn't just jump in and press the button - it may befoul your keyfobs' function in the process. Check Magnadyne keyless instructions before that.
My guess though is that your keypad is wet inside and just needs drying out; at least that's been my repeated experience.

Thanks gentlemen, I think I have it isolated I was able to open all cabinets but very stiff to open and close even after silicone treatment. This has been on going every time we hit wet weather. Is there a way to bypass the key pad? It only locks the doors when its working. When we get home and drys out I'll put it back with some light silicone.

In case you don't have it, here's a manual reference. It's not complete enough to my notion, as there's no talk of the controller under the dash, and some mentioned features don't work on all models of coach.

Some later models may use the Trimark brand rather than Magnadyne.

Thank you everybody, very much appreciated, now I can unhook and move north, more rain.

Steve, Yesterday I was able to hook up #7 & #8 in the elec. compartment. the clearance lights would blink as before trouble, I can here a small click an feel it in the relay. but does not lock or unlock the door or bays. Anything you can think of?
-
Dale,
What relay#? Are both front and rear clearance lights blinking and at same frequency as clicking relay? Is porch light also blinking?
Steve

I do not know if rear lights were blinking, they were before the problem. The pouch light never did blink, We would be happy to be able to lock an unlock door & storage. I can check on rear lights Mid week (15th)
