We have an '05 Marquis - 40ft. We were able to drain both gray and black tanks, close valves on both, however, while travelling to our next stop, noticed water leaking from hose compartment. Found gray water holding tank valve open, tried to close valve and no noise from electric gate valve. Tried to open black tank valve but also no noise from valve.
I believe both electric valves quit working at the same time.
Any suggestions on what to check??
Thank you from Tom and Jo Ann - currently at Wine Country RV in Paso Robles, CA

HI, I would think it unlikely 2 components would fail simultaneously. I would look for an electrical problem. Perhaps a failed ground or connector. I would suspect the ground to be common to both.

My valves' switches each have a red LED which stays on when its valve is open. I replaced both the valves this Spring due to their age making the motors get weak. The valve manufacturer's representative told me the expected life of the valves is eight or so years... then the motors get weak.
I seem to remember the several switches in a row on the removable water bay wall had common power and ground wires. That being the case, when I was ready to close the bay wall, a couple switches were inoperative (fresh water tank drain & hose reel) due to a common ground wire becoming disconnected. The wiring behind that water bay wall is a tangled-up rat's nest.

Make sure the 5 amp fuse behind each switch is good. I have an 06 Marquis and
have a fuse behind each switch. Good Luck

Thank you everyone. We did find the fuses and they were blown. Replaced and that fixed the problem.
