We are looking at new shocks for a 2006 Beaver Monteray,  8 total, What brand 1st & 2nd Choice and where would your choice be with insulation?

Dale, how many miles on your coach?  I am wondering if I need new shocks on mine too.  57,000 miles.  just seems to porpoise a bit thinking it could be shocks too.

We Have 34,000 Just put new tires on front, after going up the Oregon coast we did bottom out a few times, before we spend that kind of $$ we would have some suspension tech help us.

Just had 8 Bilteins put on a Henderson's in Grants Pass, OR. Had them do an RPA first worth every penny.

Hi Dale,
We had Henderson's install the KONI FSD Shocks this spring. We have over 4,000 miles on them and so far we love the new stiffer ride.
Rear Shock 8805-1005SP1 $223.00 each
Front Shock 8805-1004SP1 $223.00 each
Install labor $398.82

As full timers, I think it was worth it. I would probably rethink it if we only put on 2-4K miles a year.

We've been traveling Alberta and British Columbia and the shocks have made a big difference on the frost heaves since our trip to Canada last year.

RPA probably stands for Road Performance Assessment.

Indeed RPA = Road Performance Assessment. A 15-20 on-road evaluation performed by a Henderson Tech. There is a coupon for it on their web site. Well worth it. They'll suggest all sorts of tweaks, then it's up to you to decide which ones to have performed. Next year we'll go for the Super Steer.

Henderson's put on Koni's, SuperSteer Motion Controls, and a Safe-T-Plus unit on our Monterey after the road test comfirmed what I already suspected needed done.  They tweaked the adjustable steering also.  It is a whole new rig, and worth the expense.

We didn't have that many miles on it, so the factory Bilsteins were not worn, but I was tired of the excess rebound motion on road dips like you might encounter on Hwy 101 with a sandy base, or with Alcan heaves.  It's very slightly stiffer ride now quells that, the motion controls mean it doesn't rock side to side hardly at all, the Safe-T-Plus resists wind effects like it did on our old Pace Arrow and adds confidence re. a blow-out event, and it resists wandering.  It should've come from the factory that way.

While you're in Golden, Jeff, drive up in the east mountains and check out the view from the hangliders' jump at the top of Mount 7.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a company like Henderson's east of the Mississippi?  Maybe in Georgia.

Call Henderson, they have an authorized Super Steer dealer in GA that Robert mentioned once. I can't remember the name however. DO NOT use CampingWorld, obviously.
