What brake system was used on the 1998 Monterey 30 ft. ? Was it some variation on the air over hydraulic or did SMC use a different booster system?
Is there an electric diagram anywhere for the brake switch and booster activation?
Thanks

Keith,
There are some 96 Monterey diagrams in the Coach Assist link.

Keith: My coach is a 98 Patriot 37' and does not have air brakes. So, my brake system happens to be hydraulic over hydraulic (yes - this is not a typo) and is not air over hydraulic and of course it had no air dryer either. I have since added a air dryer (a great investment anyway) which totally solved another problem of the ride height valves failing. Without the air dryer, I had water every day to and had to drain out of the tanks with the manual purge valves. Now with the air dryer i can drive 3000 miles and virtually no water comes out of the drain valves.
To the best of my knowledge, there were not any air or brake diagrams produced for the 1998 models but remember that mine is different. If you would like to call me maybe I can answer some of your generic questions. It was only 2 years ago that I had to replace my brake switch and it was not located in any "user friendly" location.

Thanks Larry
There is a fella in the UK who has this coach. I realize that I am skirting the membership issue with this but since he cant join in anything but this forum I am hoping to have that part over looked for now. He is a long way from Bend Or.
He had to rebuild the brake switch due to corrosion etc. And it now works fine but the brake lights didnt due to something in the alarm/back up pump arrangement. He has done a wire around for the lights but if he blows a line the back up pump wont help.
He refers to this system as 'hydro boost' and I can only assume he means hydraulic over hydraulic.
Any suggestions would help
Thanks
