Title: Allison and engine break shifting problems

Coming to a stop sign. The coach made a sudden stop like someone had their foot on the break and then release. The result from that was when I start my engine and press D it shows 6 gear, not first gear to start. I can downshift manually and upshift manually but not automatically. Also, the engine brake will not light up or work. I had to drive home manually shifting gears as to not start off in 6th gear from a dead stop. I tried to rest the Allison but did not rest. Any suggestion.

Mine always shows 6 on the pad also.  It still works like any other auto transmission.  My engine brake does not light up either but it does work.  If you are going very slow and the engine brake engages it may feel kind of abrupt.  Mine does but I have not seen it as a problem.
