Went to change the oil on the Onan 7.5kw generator and to my chagrin the drain plug is a square bolt approximately 10 mm per side. Can anyone suggest a place where i might purchase a viable removal tool?Havent found a 10 mm female pipe plug socket on the web, so far.

A 3/8 extension fits that oil plug. Use the socket end of the extension on the plug, then use whatever on the male end ( vise grips - a socket that will hold on the male end).

I had a friend run into that on a Cessna I sold. It had a Lycoming with a square headed oil plug. To ease his frustration I bought him a socket from a Snap On truck.

Thanks All - just ordered the socket from SnapOn.
