We recently purchased six NAPA batteries, part no. 8146, from the Northend Auto Parts, Inc. NAPA store in Yuma, AZ. These batteries are very heavy - I know because I lifted them! - and expensive at $185.99 each plus a $27 core charge each plus AZ sales tax. Of course, when I returned the replaced batteries, I was refunded the $27 core charges. Our part no. 8146 is different than the part no. you listed, 8144, and I don't know the difference between the batteries, i.e., part nos. 8144 and 8146. I know the 8146 batteries are built by East Penn in Pennsylvania and East Penn is a well-thought-of battery manufacturer.
We don't have any experience yet with these batteries because I only recently installed them and we have not left Yuma yet. We had intended to get batteries at the Interstate shop in Yuma but they were out and would not have more batteries until mid-May. The Napa store owner/manager ordered three dozen of the batteries we purchased and received only nine. His advice was to pull-the-trigger and buy them because batteries are hard to get... as are tires, I am told.
I did some digging. The 8144 is 230 AH and weighs 64 pounds; the 8146 is 235 AH and weighs 68 pounds.
