C9 Cat overheating problem
« on: November 07, 2024, 02:04:15 AM »
Hi Dave and Steve, finally made it home with minor heating issues. not a fun trip, but I finally located the problem with the high temp. Spent a lot of time and money before I found the cause. A friend with a hydraulic shop had me remove the spool valve on the fan motor that controls the pressure to the motor. Lo and behold, the movable spool had a groove in the tapered cone!!!  Polished it out in my drill press and the fan now roars on command from the wax valve. Hope this saves someone a lot of time and money. Don Colapietro
