We are in Palm Springs right now, without the motorhome, and I just wanted to tell you about an RV park I ran across yesterday, I just happened to be driving by it on my way to the casino, it's called the Outdoor resort, I went in and they took me for a tour, the place in incredible something like 140 acres with about 20 tennis courts and ten pools and spas, and three nine hole golf courses, if I get back this way in the coach I am definitely going to stay there for a bit, the rates aren't too bad either, the most expensive spots are about $1600.00 per month and they go down from there.

Familiar with Outdoor resorts.  You can save a lot of money by going on line and renting directly from a lot owner. We usually stay in Two Springs Resort on the other side of the freeway out in the Desert Hot springs area for about $450 per month. Not as nice but nicer than most

Dave:

If you are staying in the palm Springs area for an extended period, there are several places you should check out.  We have only been doing the snowbird thing for a short while, and don't know them all, but these are the ones we have seen that may be of interest to you:

Outdoor Resorts Indio www.orindio.com
Emerald Desert Resort:  www.emeralddesert.com
Indian waters: www.indianwatersrvresort.com

We spent a total of 3 1/2 months over the last three winters at Emerald Desert and liked it a lot.  The only down side is its proximity to the freeway, so can be noisy.
We have purchased a lot in ORI but have only spent a week there so far.
We visited friends in Indian Waters.  It looked like the perfect pace for them, as their expectations and needs differed from ours.

IMHO, in Palm Springs, as in most places, you get what you pay for.  We also checked out several places across the freeway, but found it windy and cold compared to palm Desert.  Also. most of the places up around desert Hot Springs catered to full timers, so were full of Park Models.  We didn't like any parks in DHS well enough to note their names.

Friends have reserved in ORPS for Feb, so we will get to see more of it this year when we go to visit.

I agree with Keith as far as the windy part goes. In Two Springs there are probably 3 or 4 park models so it is mostly RVs. Technically it is in North Palm Springs somewhat out in the country rather than Outdoor Resorts. If you want peace and quiet Two Springs might work for you. If you want lots of socializing and activities any of the other large Palm Desert of Indio resorts that are close in to the city probably would be better

You may find it windy at Two Springs RV, as indicated by the Wind generating farm across the street.  Those are usually installed in areas of high continuous wind.

We will be checking out Indian Waters as I just finished making a couple of nights reservations prior to going to the fairgrounds for the Indio Rally.  It is located only a block and a half from the fairgrounds and after the drive down I figured a couple of days to recoup before security duty and the rally.

Different strokes, but the Wind Farms are in North Palm Springs  and Desert Hot Springs for a reason. We will occupy our lot at Outdoor Resort, Palm Springs from mid Nov to 1 April. If you are interested in renting, for considerably less than the going rate, contact me at ronlangdon@gmail.com
