When to replace air bags?
« on: September 08, 2016, 11:19:41 PM »
I just noticed that the surface on a couple of the air bags on my Roadmaster are pretty dry and granuals of rubber come off when I rub the surface. Like grains of sand. It seems pretty superficial; I don't see cords or major cracks. But should I be worried?  How long are bags supposed to last?  No major air loss yet.  My leveling system doesn't kick on very often.

Will,
I do not think that you have anything to worry about for several years at least. My coach is a 2000 with 160,000 miles, and all my air bags are original and I do not expect them to need replacement for years. I know of coaches that are approaching 30 years with the original air bags, so check them occasionally but do not expect them to need replacement soon.
