Aqua hot electric elements
« on: August 07, 2020, 03:18:32 AM »
I am not an electrical person so please pardon my lack of knowledge.  I have reading all info on the electrical elements in the aqua hots, I have a 600 unit.  They seem unable to maintain hot water as them used to after last years trip.  I am asking how they can be tested to see if they have lost heating ability without taking the unit apart.  And if they are not up to par how difficult are they to replace.  Remembering that I am not a mech and usually just a gopher running for tools.  Also is there anything else I should look for or just call the local RV repair guy.  Any assistance will br greatly appreicated.

Rocky,
There are 2 elements,  one on each side of the tank. IMHO if you are not comfortable with electrical or mechanical problem resolution, better to have an expert look at the problem. The troubleshooting is a bit involved. Check out the 600 series Service Manual at http://www.aquahot.com/Library.aspx to view the procedure.
