A new water leak.....
« on: September 01, 2020, 03:01:39 PM »
Hey all, my 2001 Contessa Naples.....

I am having a water leak issue after raining on and off for several days.

This is on the carpet at entrance to bedroom.

Wall area above it is dry, but wet under about an eight to ten inch square piece of carpet next to where tile ends.

I have resealed the top of the awning and replaced and resealed all the screws for the window awning. I also checked the drip rail and it is sealed well.

Just baffled as to where its coming in?

I am not familiar with your coach's floorplan.  Is the bedroom entrance near a sidewall or on the coach's center-line.  Our bedroom entrance is exactly in the center-line of the coach.  Also, is there an AC above and near the wet spot?

LaMonte,
It almost has to be coming in from the wall unless there is a fan vent above the bedroom entry.

Sorry for the delay in getting back with you all.
I found the leak. I guess the window awning on the passenger side window was added after the coach was built. the l/r and other b/r awning are riveted on the sidewall.

The passenger side was put on the sidewall with large wood screws. I removed the railing attach point, resealed and used all new screws to reattach it. Then I made sure to seal the top across the mount strip again.

We had hard rain for two days afterward and no water.

Then I repaired the wall where the leak was, and waited for another round of rain. Good to go now.
