Dash AC Repair
« on: September 12, 2020, 08:12:28 PM »
A yarar and half , i had a new comperor and heater installed on my dash AC.  Now the ac will not blow cold. Took it back to service dealer to repair. They now tell me they can not figer out the wiring, so I purchase a complete wiring digram for BCS for 35.00.   Sent them the diagram and now waiting to see what there escuss is now. Does any one know who in Florida area that can repair the dash air I'm a 2002 Marquis?

We have wring diagrams here (In the "Members Only >Coach Assist" section) - as good as anything you can buy (if not the same).
There is a good shop in the Ocala-Wildwood FL area. Alliance Coach (now called Lazy Days) has a good reputation. https://www.lazydays.com/rv-service

I looked and down loaded but the dealer said it would not work. So I purchased the diagram so this would take the excuses away. There is a lazy day in tampa. If they do not fix it I will try them. Thanks

So the dash a/c will not blow cold, this tells me the fans are working so the switch must be ok. Now to not blow cold either the compressor is not coming on or the freon charge in your system is not correct.
With the a/c switch on and temp to full cold it the compressor turning (clutch engaged) is so the bet is your freon is now, means you have a leak somewhere. If the compressor is not running, the switch is not getting the power (12V) to the compressor clutch. Check fuses and relays in system. Don't know why you would need a diagram of wiring as everything on the boards are labeled. Find another shop that can spell A/C.

If you have a copy of the diagrams you bought - can you provide to this group. That's if they are different from the ones in the Coach Assist section.

This a very common wiring schematic for our dash AC units.

George,
I got the file;  2003 Marquis Wiring Diagrams.  We presently have a copy in Coach Assist but it is broken into sections and is zipped so your copy may be more user friendly. I'll review and decide . I was hoping we could get a pdf copy of the AC diagram you posted as a jpg since it came through very blurry and I haven't been able to correct it.
Thx! Steve

We went through this in our 2002 Marquis too.  Probably the same system.  The shop we used spent most of a day on it off and on.  The vacuum check takes a couple hours and so on.  What I learned might help some.
1)  the old drier has a bag of desecant beads in it and this usually breaks scattering the beads through the system.
2)  The high pressure valve (located behind the front cap but way up there) must be replaced because the beads plug it up.
3)  The hoses need to be flushed back to front with brake cleaner and air multiple times to clear debris and any beads.
4)  Check the compressor and trinary switch as well as the condenser with fan.
If they missed any of these points the loose debris may have plugged it up again.  I dont pretend to be a pro but I ask about everything they do.  Just my 2 cents worth.

REV group in Indiana just repaired my dash AC.  They had to recharge the freon and added a ground wire to the compressor to fix it.  Works pretty good now.
