Cabinet Veneer Repair Article
(1/1)
Steve Huber Co-Admin:
I just added an article written by Ed Buker on how to repair lifted veneer on cabinetry doors. This was/is a very common problem on Patriots and Marquis models especially. The article can be found in Common Problems. Access is via the Private BAC Members board. Note; this article was previously published on Common Problems but was lost when it "expired". I've since "fixed" that issue.

Hello Steve,
I am new to the group and not sure how to find the articles. I would like to find out about repairing veneers as ours on our 2000 Beaver are curling and cracking. Can you tell me how to get to the article?

Hi Peggy,
Log in to the BAC Web site https://www.beaveramb.org/Sys/Login
Select the Technical tab, then Common Problems. The article you are looking for is the first listed.

Thanks Steve for the direction. I found the article and it will help greatly. Do you know, is there any place to get replacement veneer? One of our pocket doors is badly damaged so we will either need to take off the veneer and refinish the door or find new veneer.

I'm not aware of any source. You may find complete doors at an RV salvage shop like Visone. However, since the "milkiness" appearance is endemic to them, chances are you may not find what you are looking for, but it's worth a shot. A few members have removed the panels and finished the panel in the natural color.
