I own a 2006 Monterey. I have an issue with my air system and would like any help diagnosing the root cause. When I start my engine, the air pressure in the system (according to the dash gauge) will not inflate no matter how long I leave the engine on and idling. Even turning on the Fast Idle doesn't help. However, if I increase the rpm's to ~1500 and hold it there, the pressure in the system slowly increases and inflates to full pressure and sneezes after a couple of minutes. While I am driving, the system behaves normally; the pressure slowly drops to ~90 psi and then pumps back up to ~130 psi.
I have been told that this could be an issue with the air pressure governor. Is this a likely cause of this behavior? If so, how can I find out who the manufacturer of the governor is and how to obtain a replacement? If this isn't the likely cause, what other bad actors might there be?
Thanks,
Joe D.
