Potable Water around Palm Desert CA
« on: April 24, 2021, 12:00:20 AM »
We are staying at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio CA and are having a hard time locating a place we can fill our fresh water tank.  Does anyone have any suggestions???

Thank you!

If you're patronizing the casino, then you might ask the casino if they know where you can get filled.  There's also a golf course affiliated with the casino that may allow you to fill.  Otherwise, you might call around to the RV parks nearby and ask if you can fill at their park for a fee.  Also, you could go stay one night at a local RV park and do it all, e.g., dump and fill.

I notice a Love's Travel Station nearby your location.  Perhaps you can go fill with fuel and water there.

We double checked the Loves they only have non-potable at the rv dump station [the TA doesn't have anything for RVs] I will try the front desk and some of the other parks.  We wanted to camp somewhere with full hook-ups but everything's booked right now -probably due to the weekend.  Thanks for the suggestions. :)

Check with Indian Waters on Jackson as they had lot of vacancies. Also, there is also Indian Wells on Jefferson. There maybe water available at the County Park at Lake Chuilla. Probably no site available there. Thousands Trails has a park on Varner and they may have water available, but probably no sites. Also, go over to Spotlight Casino and see if they have water available. It's over by Loves and the RV parking is in the back. You can also go to Outdoor Resorts or Motorcoach Resort on Avenue 48. They have spaces, for sure, but they have a multiple night minimum and are on the pricey side. Check Also with Desert Aire on Avenue 49 and Rancho Casa Blanco on Avenue 44 near Fantasy Springs. And, there are park models in a park right next to Fantsay Springs and there would be water available there, but getting in might be a challenge. And finally, there is also several parks down around the Salton Sea. Hope this helps

Michelle, did you resolve your fresh water problem, and if so, how?

We weren't able to locate any place that would just sell us water.  But, we ended up having to stay in the area longer than expected. So we moved to Indian Waters RV Resort with full hook-ups.  We ran into the same problem this last week when we were dry camping in Williams AZ.  We ended up being able to fill up at the KOA 40gal min for $10.
