Water Filters for 07 PT
« on: May 04, 2021, 11:25:22 PM »
Any suggestions for a source of replacement water filters for the PT?  There are two, one carbon and the other just a straight filter.

Bob
I believe the water filters where an add on after the coach was built ( I could be wrong)
At any rate there are two popular sizes and many sites on the internet to close from

Pictures of the filter housings might help us figure out which ones you need.

Hope this helps

Bob,
If they are for the ice maker line (at the pump) and the water dispenser at the kitchen sink (under the sink), they are Aqua City units available on Amazon.

Ours has just the one filter.  We use a standard whole house filter.  About $8.  Two choices of filter, charcoal and HD.
Bought one at an RV shop and have found them at Walmart etc.

Our system has two filter cannisters that were built into the water system.  they are both .05 micron filters.

Your going to need to measure the length and diameter of the filters there care two common sizes 10 inch being one of them
Once you know the dimensions you can pick from many online or a Culligan store or even Home depot.

In a two canister system there are many combinations of filters you can use but usually you start with a one micron filter to remove the sediment and larger particulate so as not to plug up the finer filter down stream as quickly and follow that up with a carbon block type filter usually a half micron rating to remove water born micro organisms , chlorine , pesticides and other bad stuff.
There are specialized filters that remove other heavy metals such as magnesium but for general use just the two mentioned above are good for everyday use.
The filters won't do anything for hard water and typically the farther west you go the harder the water gets and then the only way to treat hard water is a water softener.
