If you are running Goodyears, read this. It happened to me! Thx to Doug Allman who brought it to our attention.

Just so we don't paint with too broad a brush....Issue in the article is with Goodyear G159 tires. Tires (now all retired) on our Patriot were Goodyear G70s with a 2010 date. We've now replaced them all with new Michelins, but they never failed us and looked flawless (no worse for the wear) when replaced. No sidewall checking or other issues. Those with the G159s, yes, I would look carefully at those.

Bill,
As I posted earlier, my 6 year old tires looked fine. Absolutely no exterior blemishes. cracking, etc. Tire monitor system indicated no problems (I'd checked it about 5 minutes prior). No debris on highway. Front steer tire exploded and threw coach into guard rail.

As you mentioned the effected tires should have been retired by now as on most coaches 5 to 7 years is the reasonable safe  life span for a tire on a coach.
Because some coaches don't travel very much and tires are relatively expensive some people try to stretch the life span to 10 years unwittingly putting themselves at risk.
In the case of the goodyear g159 was prone to high speed failure when new because of its construction and as time goes on they the odds increase that it will have a catostrophic failure at high speed .
The troubling part is that the corporate position was to deny the problem exists to avoid liability issues to the point where the corporate representatives would withhold court ordered information and purger themselves in court .
Which would make you reconsider wheather or not to trust their other products.

Just my two cents worth
