Access to rear Aladdin monitor
« on: October 06, 2021, 03:49:15 AM »
Our 08 Marquis has a rear Aladdin monitor in the bedroom that is no longer working.  The Kenwood monitor is no longer sold, so I would like to access the video box feeding the monitor which is likely inside the wooden nightstand with a plan to buy a  new monitor with a more modern connection. Can anyone offer some ideas on how to access?

Kathleen,
What type of monitor is in the bedroom (is it separate from the TV)? Does it have any controls built in and do you have the Aladdin joystick mounted separately?

My (2005 Coach) just uses the bedroom TV for displaying Aladdin info, with a separate joystick mounted on the wall above the nightstand.

The Kenwood unit (in the dash) can be replaced with just about any car audio receiver that fits the dash opening and has a backup camera input (the Aladdin outputs video on a RCA video jack).

The Aladdin Kenwood monitor is separate from the Tv and has a separate Aladdin joystick.  The Kenwood monitor screen must have some sort of remote mounted box to.change the connection to the back of the bedroom Kenwood monitor.  The video connection does not seem to be typical for today’s monitor.
