The earlier Magnum coaches used a different ride height control valve made by Halides.
They have two adjustments one the swing arm can be adjusted to Change the range of motion  is the longer the swing arm is adjusted out from the valve the more suspension travel can be handled.
And the second adjustment is the vertical rod length which is used to set the actual ride height
The adjustment that Richard made was the correct adjustment for this style of ride height valve.
