Microwave

(1/2) > >>

Bill Vervalin:
We have a 1999 Beaver Contessa.  The microwave went kaput. Our current microwave (have a hunch all were back then) is a Sharp model R-1850-A. Does anyone know what this unit can be replaced with? Hoping to get an easy fit replacement. Thank you

Steve Huber:
Bill,
Suggest you do a search for "microwave" or "sharp" here on the Forum. There are a number of posts regarding microwave replacements. Sharp and GE appeared to be the most common replacement units.

I replaced mine with a Sharp R-1874.  It was an exact fit replacement and even used the exact mounting plate as the original.  The New one is a stainless model where the old one was black plastic, besides that they are very similar.  My old unit still worked but the plastic face was starting to break and fall off.

Sometimes you have to look for the 1874's but l found one on Amazon.  I have also seen them from others just by searching the model number.

Bill Vervalin:
Thank you Carl.  I appreciate the information. In my googling I came across the R-1874......however there was R1874, 1874F, 1874T - do you happen to know the difference? Do you recall the one you bought?

Thnx again, Bill

Carl Boger:
I honestly do not know the differences. I would suspect it is probably something like exterior colors, but that is just a guess.
