Engine mount hydraulic pump.
« on: November 15, 2022, 03:31:20 AM »
So I see a lot of posts about the side radiator fan motor…but cannot find anything or I am having no luck finding material or posts on the motor that is mounted via the magnaloy adapter.

I feel like I have determined that it is a Sauer Sundstrand which I believe was purchased by Danfoss.  It has 1 large inbound line and  1 large outbound to Fan and smaller return line to res tank and mounts to the frame …driven by the engine on my chassis.

It leaks bad now…some for a while but now it’s bad… I either need to get a repair seal kit or get someone to here in East Texas to repair or replace it, ideally before our move to FL.

Frankly would love to run the PS via PS dedicated pump off the engine as I see the 3126 can do … and Fan via an electronic driven fan.  Thus removing the entire need for all these Hydraulic lines and pumps and motors….

Anyone else considered this….or had this pump repaired.

Just went through this issue on my coach.  My auxiliary hydraulic pump operates the cooling fan and power steering. When the pump went out I lost engine cooling and power steering.  I have a Cat C-12 and the pump is mounted on the engine and is driven by the engine auxiliary drive on the engine.  My pump is a Saur-Danfoss pump which is made in the UK.  Finding anyone who knows anything about these pumps was a challenge.  I found that you cannot by parts, just the whole pump which ranged in price from $3000 to $6000.  I finally contacted  Chris  Zainer <Chris.Zainer@dynamatic-us.net> who is a national rep for Dynamic which now owns Saur-Danfoss.  He is located in Wisconsin.  He is a wealth of knowledge  but agreed parts are not available.  Your pump may be rebuildable but mine was not.  Ultimately found a pump on ebay with a different model number for $175 new not in the box.  With the help of Mr Sainer from Dynamic he guided me through some simple modifications to make it work and provided diagrams.  I dont know if your engine has an auxiliary drive. Now waiting for the mechanic to reinstall.Hope this helps.

Whitehouse Products in the UK may be able to help you. Very reasonable and shipping was 5 or 6 days to US. Very knowledgeable and helpful when I needed some hydraulic parts for my cooling fan on my 07’ Marquis. Here’s there web site, https://www.whitehouseproductsltd.com/home  Hope this helps.

Does that tell me the specs for it?

Ron,

Try this, read down to “Other numbers on pump”  https://picclick.com/New-Sauer-Sundstrand-Hydraulic-Pump-Type-41468-252720906988.html  Does it look the same? Also, Sauer Danfoss is now Dynamatic. I would still call Whitehouse Products. Hope this helps.

I had to replace to replace the hydraulic pump on my 1998 Marquis. Northwest RV supply was able to source a new one from England for a fair price. You might want to give them a call concerning your hydraulic motor for the cooling fan.
