Loose wires by trans / curbside.
« on: February 25, 2023, 07:40:39 PM »
Recently noticed two loose / detached wires hanging down on the curb side of the transmission.  One is marked ground, while the other is marked "553 Low Air PSI Switch".

Can anyone tell me where I should be looking to see where these came from, or should be going?  I can only assume a previous wire repair or bypass created this situation.

Thank you for any suggestions.

The Low Air switch wire should run from the low air switch to firewall connector C1. Is the wire (s) broken or do they have ring terminals crimped to the ends? If broken, (no terminal), I'd look for the other end dangling from the switch, but I'm not sure where it's located on your coach. The ground wire probably comes from the same location.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.

John,
If I had to guess, I'd suspect the switch is near/at the rear air tank. Should be located just forward of the rear axle.

Thanks Steve.

The wires are not broken, they have round terminals fully intact.  I'll look for that switch.  Very curious why they have been left disconnected and why I have no consequences that I'm aware of...

Thanks again.

Does you low air warning buzzer work ?

If not the wire you are referring to should be connected to the low air switch mounted on the top of the upper air tank
You should be able to see it from under the bed or by looking above the battery area it will be a round switch screwed into the air tank .

It will look like this

Hi Eric:

Buzzer is audible during psi build-up after starting motor.  It's never sounded any other time.

Thanks for the image.  Getting back to this after our long awaited snow season is over in New England.

Thank you,
