P.T.L. ??
« on: March 08, 2023, 12:12:49 PM »
I have a black plate on the interior door frame, behind the striker for the entrance door.  On it is P.T.L., and when removed it exposes a heavy metal plate with two wires soldered to it.  Does anyone have an idea what this is?  I don't see anything in the owner's information regarding this.

Thank you in advance...

Hummmm...   I do not see such a plate on our coach door.  The only plate I see with writing has the Monaco door part number and some other irrelevant info.

John,
I think it may be the plate for the keyless entry magnetic switch. If one of the wires is labeled 261, that's it. The other wire will be ground. (see page 44 of the 2002-03 Patriot wiring diagrams in Coach Assist for the circuit).

The move a bolt refers to the floating sticker pin mechanism.and doesn't explain the sires
Steve may be onto something with the magnetic switch .
There is an adjustment manual for the PTL door and move a bolt system in the coach assist section of the form
Which may help you with the door operation.

John, Eric,
I think it may be either (or both) the switch to enable the keyless entry and/or the air gasket around the door.

I doubt a 2001 Patriot had an air inflated seal on it's door ( maybe I'm wrong )
