2000 Beaver Marquis

Does anyone know WHERE to locate cylinders for a Beaver Marquis (2000)?  We purchased this coach from prior owner and after waiting for it for better part of a year, received it just 2 weeks prior to our scheduled first x-country trip.  Upon delivery, the seller / prior owner advised that the left rear hydraulic needed to be replaced and he would do so upon our return.  Well, we were gone 2 months and have been back for 3 months ... and it hasn't been done.  Supposedly the part is unavailable.  This was a very bumpy excursion for 5000 miles that we'd prefer not to have again.  Any information will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Tobi - I am confused.  The hydraulic levelers are tucked up when traveling and have nothing to do with a bumpy ride.  The hydraulic levelers are set down to the ground when parked to level the coach only while parked.  Are you talking about an air spring (airbag), perhaps?  The air springs are what smooth the ride while traveling.  The air springs can also be used for leveling if the coach is equipped with air leveling controls. Our coach, for example, has both air leveling and 3-point hydraulic leveling.

If you have a bad hydraulic ram, then read this thread:  https://beaveramb.org/forum/index.php/topic,11626.msg77979.html#msg77979

If you have a bad airbag, then read this thread:  https://beaveramb.org/forum/index.php/topic,7398.msg52058.html#msg52058

Toni
The 2000 model likely had the SMC levelers.  These were rams that came down from the underbody and landed on the axle never touching the ground.  This leveled the body above the axles.  This was a good system when new but the company is long gone.
Two common problems are the controller unit for which I suggest calling Beaver Coach Sales in Bend Oregon as they developed a replacement control unit.  The  number there is 1-541-322-2184.  Mike in parts can help.
The cylinders or ‘rams’ are not available new either.  There is an outfit in Kentucky I think that will rebuild them at a reasonable cost.  Hopefully someone here has that contact info.
Sorry this happened to you.  Welcome to a club with really good folks.

   Greetings Tobi,
I too have a 2000 Marquis Jasper. The leveling system when parked is the HWH computerized leveling system. Enclosed is a picture of the controller on the driver side console. Keith was referring to the leveling system that is on a 2002 Patriot thunder. I am not clear on the 5000 mile journey as to the quality of the ride. How many miles are on the existing shock absorbers? Did the former owner give you any service records. Please share your experience so we can advise. Also please add your coach info to your profile so we all know what your driving.
  Blessings, Fred

We had a 2002 Marquis with SMC leveling.   I had thought they started using that in 2000.
Appreciate the update.
