Side mirrors adjustment control
« on: May 24, 2023, 10:09:21 PM »
Replaced the mounting plate for all switches and emergency brake at left side of drivers seat.
Everything works except Mirror adjusting control.
Is there a fuse for Mirror control toggle ?    If yes, does anyone know where locations is ?
Any thoughts or suggestions ?

There should be breakers or fuses for your model in the foremost streetside electrical bay.  You might check for voltage on either side of the appropriate fuse/cb there if you know which it is.  Our mirrors are on breaker #6 (CB6), but it’s a different year Monterey and electrical designs change in that compartment.  As per the Hot bar shown below, on ours the key does not need to be “on” to operate the mirrors.

Also check the 2004 Monterey Wiring Diagram in Coach Assist and the mirror wiring legend on its last page.

Joel - Thank you.
I was able to find it.
Is this a re-settable breaker or a fuse ?  And how do you reset if resettable ?
Where can they be purchased ? I have never seen anything like that before.
Do you need to remove retaining nuts on both side of buss bar to remove ?

Thanks

That should be an auto-resetting breaker.  There’s usually no issue with them, so if it’s faulty you’d have to check online or Beaver Coach parts for a source, or perhaps another member here can suggest one.  But you can at least check with a voltmeter that voltage is making it from the breaker’s “hot” side to its mirror control side, helping to narrow down any other problem spot, or even simply a loose or corroded breaker nut.

Also check the tightness of all the screws on the ground bus bar(s) in that electrical bay, as your mirror wiring diagram shows a white ground wire (S16?) going there from the switch;  most white wires in the bay have identifying printing on them if you want to try reading each, but that usually means snipping wire ties to loosen bundles and get any clear reading.

That said, if you’ve had the console panel off and been rummaging around under there, my first guess would be a disturbed wire or connector at the control switch.  The diagram indicates that only the mirrors’ heaters require the ignition to be on, and are separate from the switch;  their positioning motors are direct fed from the switch, breaker, and batteries (wire 108 to circuit breaker CB3).  The diagram shows what appear to be some sort of connectors or coupler/plugs near the switch, for a black “hot” wire (BLK PWR) and a white ground one (WHT GND)… check those two connectors.

Darrel
The circuit breakers you are looking at are automatic cycling circuit breakers meaning they will trip (shutoff) of exposed to too much current and will reset ( turn back on ) when they cool back down automatically.
As Joel stated they rarely fail but if there is a short or excessive current demand in the system they will continue to cycle on and off until they get weak and fail.
Those where likely made by Cole Hersee and can be picked up at most parts stores ie. NAPA, O'Reilly's,  etc.
Make sure first that it is faulty by testing for power on both sides of the breaker.
When purchasing a new one make sure it is the same amperage as the old one.

Hope this helps
