New to me '06 Monterey

Hello All

I just returned home yesterday, after picking up a new to me '06 Monterey 40' Laguna IV.  The coach is like brand new with 16,500 miles.  I have been looking for several months, and never have seen a used unit in this condition.  This is our fourth coach, so I do have some experience with them, including my '03 Monterey 37' Seacliff (now for sale!)

Anyway, two questions re: this coach:

Where, oh where is the inverter located; and

This is the first coach we have had where the bedroom gets really hot, after about 100 miles of driving.  Any thoughts?

Kindest Regards,

Brad Burgess

The inverter on our '06 Monterey hangs from the "ceiling" of our main passenger-side bay.  But I don't know exactly how yours is configured, bay-wise, since ours is a shorter coach.  Still, it's probably in a similar location on yours.

As to the bedroom heat, we haven't noticed that issue very much, but we frequent cooler climates than some.  There have been threads here that discuss it though, so you might run a search of the Forum, at least until someone weighs in here who's dealt with the problem.  I've heard some install fans in the engine compartment to more quickly cool down after parking, but other options exist to prevent or mitigate the heat;  I'm sure members will chime in here with some of them for you Brad.

I too have an '06 Monterey, 40 ft, and as Joel said it hangs from the basement ceiling. It can be accessed from the third bay door.

As for the engine heat, my bedroom also gets rather warm. The old Monaco Service Center in Wildwood, FL installed sheets if insulation in the engine compartment and that did help some. It didn't completely eliminate the problem though

Thanks Joel and Louis - I found the inverter thanks to you both.  Now, to tackle the heat.
