Replacing front draperies on 2001 Marquis

(1/3) > >>

Richard Cooper:
Where might I go to get replacement draperies for the front of my coach -- the area around the front windshield area, pleated, and on the power rail?  Mine are tattered a bit.

Anyone else replace theirs?

I suppose I would have to go to a drapery maker as these would seem to custom made.  They are not a standard length nor width.

We are out on our first trip in our new to us 1993 Beaver Contessa ,Yuma AZ to Columbia SC so I do not have all the names and phone # of the people that have helped us get this classic coach on the road but if you call Pattiy Pierce, formerly at the Beaver Service Center in Bend now owner of SunBum RV in Yuma Az 541 948 4544  she put me in touch with a lady named Elaine who made the drapes for the Beaver factory originally and she did a perfect job on our new front drapes. Patty and Rob did a lot of the Remodle/Restore work on our coach, since they both worked on these coaches when they were new until Bend production ended they are a great help with Beaver coaches.  Steve

Elaine at NRRV 541-316-1477. The drapes run $435.00 plus shipping.

Richard, did you get the new drapes?  I've spot cleaned ours over the years, but was also thinking of replacing them since they have gotten frayed by the velcro at the hold-back.

Richard Cooper:
I talked with Elaine just the other day and she's sending me fabric samples.  I expect to be putting in an order shortly.  By the way, she doesn't have the green linen fabric that was original to my coach.  So, I'm picking out something else green-like -- perhaps sage -- a darker color.  I told her that I wanted the draperies to be as soft as what I've got now and hang straight.  I don't want anything stiff.  She's got to make them with the wiring sewn in for the electric rods to work right.
