Fog/Driving light
« on: January 10, 2013, 12:36:03 AM »
A flying Alien distroyed one of my Fog lights (driver's side.)  I ordered and installed both replacement lamps.  Unfortunately the driver's side is not getting any juice.  I followed the wires as far as possible from the switch down and the lamp up, without finding anything.  My question is:  Is there an inline fuse and if so where?  Any help is highly appreciated.  Thanks, Gunther Hektor

Gunter,
Since one of the lights is working, I doubt you have a fuse problem since a fuse would normally protect both lights. Assuming your coach is wired similarly to mine, there is a circuit breaker in the electrical bay in front of the driver side wheel supplies power to both lights. It is OK since one of the lights is on. I suspect you have a bad connection at the driver's side light itself. Be sure the bulb is good. Ensure the socket is not corroded. Check for voltage at the socket. If no joy, consider using a pin to pierce the insulation to see if the wire has voltage.

Easiest thing to do is test the socket with a 12 volt test light. If it is hot it is the bulb or connection in the socket between the bulb and contacts.
