Installed a closet system
Joel Weiss:
After full-timing for two years we decided that hanging clothes in a closet is an inefficient way of using storage space. Furthermore, we don't own that many clothes that really need to hang (my jeans won't mind if they are folded ;D) So we removed the lower bar in our closet and installed drawer stacks purchased from The Container Store. I'm sure you can find other brands that will do the same thing, but, as you can see, these were sized so hardly any space was wasted.
The drawer stacks are anchored to the closet frame and floor. A 3/4" board was needed to support the rear legs of the stack. When we travel I plan to use Velcro strap to tie pieces of PVC pipe, the same height as the drawer stack, to the closet center post. The pipes will prevent the drawers from sliding forward into the glass doors in the event of a fast stop.
The net result is that we have more stuff in the closet organized so we can actually see what we own. Installation was ~2 hours start to finish.

NICE JOB!!! Looks real efficient!

Joel,
We took a different approach to adding drawer space. Our coach came with a combo washer / dryer. But, we found that we preferred doing wash at an RV park where we could do multiple loads at the same time. I found a Patriot owner who had a bank of drawers and wanted a washer/drier. We did an even trade and we've been very satisfied ever since.

Love that closet redo. I have plastic drawers along the floor but I think your idea is much better Joel.

I have to be honest and admit that my DW came up with the idea and identified the drawers that fit. I'll pas along your comliments.
