Stubborn water spots on clear shower doors

We had spots, but after my wife convinced me that life would improve if I wiped the glass down with the squeegee after every shower, the spots gradually disappeared.  No vinegar, CLR or elbow grease.

We wipe down ours also, but using a small micro fiber towel. Like Keith said, I think the spots eventually disappear with the repeated shower and drying process.

I was taught by a body shop guy that this http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Marine/Home/Products/Catalog/?PC_7_RJH9U5230GE3E02LECIE20S4K7000000_nid=GSF21PNYLHbeH8PTZGX97Rgl is the best stuff to use on water spots, both on outside windows and any other glass.  When I bought some at West Marine I asked if anyone knew of people using it on glass; I was told that lots of people have discovered its usefulness for this purpose even though it's not what it's advertised for.  I suspect the mild abrasive contributes to its effectiveness, but it works without much effort and, yes, I have used it on our shower glass.

In one of her seminars, I've heard Mary Findlay, of Mary Moppins (a club sponsor) say that she has seen showers that wouldn't come clean with vinegar and a scrubber because of hard water that had actually etched the glass.

Those showers hadn't been wiped down or squeegeed and water spots had dried in place and had permanently etched the glass.

Today I cleaned my glass shower walls with Bar Keepers Friend and it WORKED!!!  My glass door and side walls (also clear glass) are clean of water spots.
