CB Antenna
« on: June 27, 2013, 08:12:36 PM »
The CB antenna was snapped off when I got the coach. Anyone know what type of mast came on the 2000 Marquis from the factory; e.g, length, did it have a base coil, or was it just a shaft, etc?
Thx, Steve

Not sure about your configuration, but many motorhomes (including our 2002 Monterey) have a CB antenna mount that uses a standard 3/8 inch thread for the whip. Assuming this is how yours is set up, you should be able to purchase any CB antenna from a truck stop, etc. that uses a 3/8 inch thread. I took the white fiberglass CB antenna off of ours and replaced it with a ham radio 2 meter stainless steel whip (the mast had no loading coil or spring). I may still have the CB whip I removed. If I can find it, you are welcomed to it.

Steve,
Bill is right, your coach came with a fiberglass shaft antenna with a 3/8 SAE thread that was about 2 1/2 feet long. I broke 2 of them off on low tree limbs before I changed to a stainless steel whip.

Bill, Gerald,
Thanks for the info and offer. I'll pick up a  SS whip next time I'm at Loves.
