Marquis Paint Code
Steve Huber:
We've got a blue 2000 Marquis. It has 4 different shades of blue. The R&M Diamont paint codes listed on the cabinet sticker are; M4012E, M4143I, M4126R, and M6085A. The M4xxxx codes are correct as I had all filled at the local auto paint store.
The problem is the M6085A. It mixes up to a gold color. I checked with Ken at BCS, but they no longer have the codes. Also called Industrial Coatings and R&M Diamont but no joy. I suspect the code should be M4085A but the color sample on the R&M Diamont site is so small it's tough to tell if it is a match.
So, are there any owners with BLUE Marquis circa 2000, that may have the correct color codes?
Thx! Steve
David T. Richelderfer:
For what it's worth... My Marquis is a 2004 and has Diamont paint. The "Exterior Paint Code Information" for my coach was found on the backside of one of the kitchen cabinet doors.
Color: Veranda This defines the color and pattern scheme on the exterior paint job.
Code: MQ8N04 I do not know what this means.
And the four paint codes are IFDA20110, IFDA20115, two colors - light and dark champagne (tan)
IFDA10130, IFDA10140 two colors - light and dark emerald (green) colors
The clearcoat is "DC92GL Diamond Clear"
I am thinking not much here will help you, but our coach years are not far apart. One problem might be your coach was Beaver built in 1999-2000 while mine was Monaco built in 2003-2004. When I called upon Industrial Finishes in Bend to get touch-up amounts of the colors they had the info in their records. All I did was tell them my coach year and type, and the "Veranda" color scheme... and they had what they needed to make up the pints of paint I wanted for touch-ups.
Good luck...
Ohhh... just remembered... Mike Simon in Hermiston, Oregon has a Marquis a few years older than mine (don't remember the exact year) and it's blue. You might try him if all else fails. He is tough to get ahold of though.
Steve Huber:
Dave,
Thx! Paint store struck out with Industrial Finishes, But I'll give them and Mike a try on Monday. May also try ASV on the off chance Monaco had and transferred the SMC paint codes.

Edward Buker:
Steve,
You might give Alliance a call, they may very well have done body work on a blue Marquis and have the codes. If your frig painted vent cover has the blue you are missing you should be able to bring that piece in and have them read it and mix from there.
Later Ed
Steve Huber:
Ed,
Thx for the info. Paint shop I'm working with doesn't have a spectrometer. Will need to find another one if I can't come up with code. Will give Alliance a call.
Steve
