Mr. Jordan, cannot speak for any business but I do know with building this hose and
time to install this hose is not more than one hour. Breaking out cost of fuel hose bought
at Cat Dealer in AZ. I/2 fuel line 48 inch @ .36 = $ 17.28, and 2 hydraulic fittings @
$ 8.00 ea = $ 16.00. Total w/out tax.  $ 33.28 to build hose. Time to install hose 15 minutes
C-12 and up. Cat 3126 to C-9 30 minutes ( location is different on engines ). I have a hydraulic
press to make up hydraulic hoses but I do not want to get into a conflict of interest posting
Problems than selling parts to repair problem. Last Thought the Cat Dealer Empire in Blythe,
Cal. did not charge me to crimp the hose end on hoses. That was there cost out the door for
building each hose each. The installing a person can install or have help from fellow beaver.

I believe my labor charge from Empire Cat was $180.00 plus $45.00 for the hose which was made up by an outside shop.

Thanks Dave I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something . From what i remembered with my filter location and easy access , it looked pretty like a Quick fix. I was going to have the Cat dealer Change the oil , Filters and do a couple other small projects. At the same time I was going to add this to the list even though it looks like a DIY project.I Just don't want to pay for hours of work! on something I could tackle. I'll ask the cost first.
 One comment ... I have found some shops don't really want Motorhome  business. They seem to price work  to discourage them or at least compensate well!

Hi William , myself I would suggest measure and have Cat make up the hose. With the C-12
You will need One hose end -10 or 5/8 Jic female swivel to connect to a Cat fuel hose. The
second end -8  or 1/2 JIC female swivel to connect to 1/2 Cat fuel hose. Measure your old hose
and add little extra about 6 inches. When install new hose start at water/fuel filter end first
Than fuel transfer pump last. There is different cost for hose made up by Cat dealer but under
$ 50.00 cost outlay. Dave Atherton Retired Cat Mechanic
