Surge Tank replacement C12 2000 PAT
« on: November 08, 2016, 06:29:33 PM »
Hi,

Here is an update on the Metal Surge Tank to replace the plastic tank that came with the Coaches 96 to 2002.

I am getting ready to replace it again.  The tank fill neck has a hairline crack at the base.  This will be the second one that I have installed, this one lasted 4 years.

BCS has a metal one for $399.00 + 25 shipping.

Mac's Radiator in Portland has the same unit for $370.00 + 19.95.

They look close enough that I think Mac is making for BCS.

I guess it pays to look.

I had what I believe is a similar if not the same  tank replaced at Source Enginering in coberg. The cost was $450 but that was installed price when I used them to replace the radiator a year and a half ago.
They claimed it was designed by them in aluminum for The poly?  tank that was used in Monacos (their specialty) and many other big engine coaches of that era. True or not I don't know. Pretty simple tank I suppose any shop working in aluminum could make.
