Incoming AC voltage limits
« on: January 07, 2018, 05:45:03 PM »
My neighbor asked if we have had any interruptions in our shore power. He said he has had two or three today, and can't figure out why.

We have not had any interruptions, but his query prompted me to look at the inverter/charger and the Aladdin. Both indicate incoming AC is 127. Is that high number any cause for alarm?

Could someone reiterate the high and low tolerances if you know them?

Thank you.

Stan that is high normal would be more like 115-118
you should check voltage at L-1 & L-2 at the mast head also check your interior plugs. You may have a bad transfer switch

Thank you, Jerry. Electricity is not my forte. What is L1 & L2 and the mast head?

Stan, the voltage range would be high of 130 to low of 102. Most surge protecters will cut off power when exceeding these ranges. The references to L1 & L2 refer to the pedestal power plug checking with a multimeter the voltage coming into your coach on each 50 amp leg. Hope this helps.
