Non functioning Bendix cruise control
« on: December 02, 2019, 11:34:17 PM »
:(I have a Bendix cruise control on my '90 Beaver Marquis that is not functioning.  I have had several attempts to trace where the problem is but have not been successful.  In making a call to Colton Truck Repair service department the guy says that it may take several hours to trace the problem at $100 plus per hour labor.  He suggests that I might want to think about installing a universal cruise control.  Does anyone out there in Beaver land have any suggestions on how to proceed?  I have not had a cruise control for the past 3 - 4  years.  Thanks a bunch.

I also had a Bendix cruise control in my 1990 Barth Regency diesel pusher and it went bad. I suggest that you take a look at King cruise control. It worked very well for me.

Do you have the wiring diagram for it (if not see below attachment). I would start by verifying that air pressure is getting to the solenoid valve. What are the symptoms? Does any part of it work?

Mandy,
also check to see that you have a good 12 volt source. I had a Bendix cruise that would work intermittently. After having the control module rebuilt and still having issues I finally installed a relay using the starter motor circuit and never had a problem again. If control module is bad, a guy in Dallas can rebuild it,
