Can anyone identify this
« on: May 01, 2020, 11:46:16 PM »
While cleaning up some wiring behind my front TV today I came across this small box that is wired in with 2 RCA type cables.

Does anyone know what it is and what it is supposed to do, or for that matter if I even need it?  I traced the wires to where the amp for the Bose system used to live, and it appears to be a 12 volt accessory.  The red light on it does not come on when 12 volts is supplied though so I doubt it is working.

I just recently got a Plye PLRVST-400 stereo system to replace the old non properly working Bose system and it Plays the AM/FM radio, streams Bluetooth devices , plays CD's, and will play DVD's to the front TV through RCA Jacks.  I know I don't need this device for any of that, but I don't know if it is used for any over the air channels.

Thanks for any help.

Interesting what you find in these old coaches. I would guess it to be a signal amplifier for the TV.

In street view from GOOGLE, it appears to be someone's home.

It's an audio amp. If you've pulled the Bose amp, it's excess.

My best guess after searching around on GOOGLE is it's a "locked-in amplifier."  It eliminates noise to make a single, clear audio signal.

Thanks Everyone!  I have pulled the Bose Amp so I guess that can go the same way the amp did.  Didn't think I would need it but one never knows with these coaches.
