Title: Powered chair leg lift
Post by: Barbara Olmstead on September 18, 2020, 09:34:33 PM
The passenger chair powered leg support just quit...will not go down or up. Motor hums, but nothing happens. All other power buttons on the chair work. This is an '07 Marquis.

Barbara,
It would be helpful to know what year and model coach you have. If the furniture is made by Villa, the passenger side footrest was  known to fail due to the drive mechanism becoming disconnected from the motor. This could also happen with Flexsteel units but not as prevalent.

Mine quit working a while back, and would not move.  I could hear the motor try to move it but it was like something was jammed keeping it from opening.  I took the chair out and the gear box on the motor had become inoperable.  The grease inside had hardened and it would not allow the gears to turn.  I took it all apart and thoroughly cleaned everything and re-greased the gears.  I won't say that it is better than new, but it does now work. Maybe almost as good as new.
